Throughout some sections of Selhurst Park during the clash against Shakhtar Donetsk, some Crystal Palace fans could be heard chanting the name of Oliver Glasner.
To be more precise, the song went “don’t you leave us Glasner” to the tune of The Human League’s Don’t You Want Me, as supporters come to terms with the fact the Austrian only has five games left in charge.
However – according to Miguel Delaney’s Inside Football newsletter – there is a small chance that Glasner could choose to stay at Crystal Palace.
Who do YOU want as the next Crystal Palace boss? 🤔
Sources believe Oliver Glasner has a 5% chance of remaining at Selhurst Park
Sources close to Selhurst Park have now informed Delaney of the Independent that Andoni Iraola is genuinely attracted by the prospect of managing Crystal Palace, as reports in Spain claimed on Thursday that the 43-year-old was close to an agreement with the Eagles.
However, sources also shared that there is a possibility Glasner stays – albeit a very tiny one – with insiders feeling the man from Salzburg has a 5% chance of signing a new contract.
We personally feel it is unlikely, with the 51-year-old informing Steve Parish of his decision as far back as October, while approaches have already been made to potential replacements.
The aforementioned Delaney recently claimed that Marcelino has been spoken to after choosing to leave Villarreal – while the Daily Mail say Kieran McKenna is an option after steering Ipswich back into the Premier League.
Iraola is the main target, but it remains to be seen whether those reports in Spain were premature as the 43-year-old continues to assess his options, according to Delaney.
It would be a remarkable U-turn from Glasner were he to change his mind, considering how outspoken the Austrian was towards Steve Parish at the start of 2026 upon losing Marc Guehi to Manchester City.
