Well, things have unquestionably turned sour under the 76-year-old.
Hodgson’s refusal to acknowledge fringe players such as Matheus Franca, Naouirou Ahamada, Chris Richards and Jesurun Rak-Sakyi has irked supporters, as have his consistently negative comments about youngsters.
That is without mentioning the utterly turgid style of football – only Sheffield United have scored fewer than our tally of 14 in 15 Premier League outings this season.
Now – according to Football Insider – Hodgson could leave Crystal Palace within WEEKS.
It is believed that the Croydon-born tactician will not be sacked, but a parting of ways by mutual consent is far more likely as all parties appreciate things are coming to an end.
Who could replace Roy Hodgson?
There have already been a few names mentioned as potential replacements for Hodgson – which adds further credence to the notion that he could soon depart.
Steve Cooper of Nottingham Forest and Kieran McKenna of Ipswich are said to be on the shortlist – according to the Daily Mail.
In regards to Cooper, the Welshman could soon become available, as he is also under pressure at the City Ground following a run of one win in 11 Premier League games.
McKenna seems harder to hire, as the 37-year-old’s side look capable of achieving promotion to the Premier League. Ipswich are currently second in the Championship, one point behind Leicester.
