Crystal Palace will have a handful of players heading to the Euros this summer, with one now tipped to make his mark at the competition.

As the season heads into its final 10 games there are a few Crystal Palace players who will be desperate to earn their place in various national team squads for the Euros this summer.

Joachim Andersen is a shoo-in for Denmark while Michael Olise will hope to light the league up once he returns to earn his place.

Finally, the two English hopefuls Marc Guehi and Eberechi Eze will hope to force Gareth Southgate into selecting them through continually impressive performances.

Now, Paul Merson has suggested one of these could bring some X-factor to the England squad.

Paul Merson tips Eberechi Eze to make the difference for England this summer

Writing in his weekly predictions piece on SportsKeeda on Thursday, Merson has tipped Eze to be influential during this coming summer’s European Championship.

“Eberechi Eze is one of Palace’s brightest players and I think he’s got a decent chance of making it into Gareth Southgate’s squad for the Euros.”

Merson then continued to explain that Eze is a special kind of player who can produce the magic moments needed to win an international tournament.

“He’s got that X-factor about him and you need players like that to win a major tournament.”

Merson also predicted the result this weekend in the game against Luton. For this, he has predicted a 2-1 win for Palace at Selhurst Park.

Eze must go to the Euros this summer

Having a player like Eze is a luxury and one which Southgate can afford this summer in his Euros squad.

Eze really must be selected for his moments of magic, something that could win England a close knockout tie or a close group game.

Looking at the alternatives for this position, Eze fits perfectly as an option to act as deputy to Jude Bellingham with both capable of scoring, assisting and ultimately winning a game on their own.

If Eze doesn’t get the call, it’s a decision that could haunt Southgate – however, the decision likely depends as much on Eze staying fit as it does anything else.
