One Crystal Palace player could be quietly disappointed for an alternative reason, over the latest news at Selhurst Park.
Oliver Glasner hasn’t been able to catch a break lately, with an injury crisis slowly beginning again within his squad.
This list entails Matheus Franca along with Sam Johnstone and Daniel Munoz is also a concern after he was withdrawn from Colombia’s recent win over Romania.
This somewhat lessens the excitement over the return of Michael Olise which is expected to happen this weekend or next.
But there is one player who might privately be upset over the injury news to emerge over the international break, that being Dean Henderson.
Sam Johnstone’s injury situation is bad news for Crystal Palace
With the latest blow at Selhurst Park being the Johnstone situation, Henderson is the man who we imagine could be pretty upset, but not for the reason you’d think.
Johnstone picked up an elbow injury which requires surgery while in training on international duty with England this week.
The injury will see Johnstone out for the remainder of this season and also the European Championships this summer.
Being out for so long could also lead to the reported Wolves interest in Johnstone being extinguished as he may not recover from injury until July.

With Johnstone’s possible summer move scuppered, it could leave Henderson in another season of fighting tooth and nail for his position.
Despite being the starter for months under Roy Hodgson, upon his sacking, immediately the £20m costing keeper was demoted to the bench.
This a telling sign that he simply hadn’t done enough in his initial spell in goal, but now he has another chance and needs to take it, otherwise he’ll be spending another year on the bench and become a bonafide flop.
Henderson will hope that the goalkeeping role that he’s asked to do by Glasner will suit him better with with his sweeping and ball playing being a strength.
Ultimately though, Johnstone’s injury likely does scupper any deal that might’ve occurred which will leave Henderson and Johnstone to some extent in limbo as neither will be a nailed-down starter.
