SAKA, ANTONY AND 10 PREMIER LEAGUE STARS HEADING TO THEIR FIRST WORLD CUP
If it wasn’t already difficult enough for us to sign Conor Gallagher on a permanent deal, he’s just made it a little bit tougher.
Last night, the 21-year-old dynamo scored the opening goal as England’s Under-21 side drew 2-2 against Slovenia’s U21’s.
Gallagher showed superb anticipation to follow in, after Rhian Brewster was bundled over inside the box.
The Crystal Palace No.23 should’ve had another goal to show for his efforts.
A brilliant long-range pass from Marc Guéhi – who captains England U21’s – found Emile Smith Rowe, who put it on a plate for Gallagher.
Somehow, the Chelsea loanee missed – Sky Sports microphones even picked him up saying “how did I miss” in disbelief!
Nevertheless, with each passing game in which Gallagher steals the show like this, it’s going to enhance his reputation more and more.
As a result, his value will go up and up, while Chelsea are more likely to keep him if he continues to show his immense quality.
At this rate, we may have to smash our club-record transfer fee to sign him, which currently stands at the £27m spent on Christian Benteke.
If we were in Steve Parish’s position, we’d happily splash £30m on Gallagher – he has been a complete and utter revelation in south London.
