Crystal Palace now well placed to sign Van Basten 2.0 after Joachim Andersen's arrival - Our View

The Rise and Fall of Werder Bremen: What Went Wrong?

As August gets underway, it’s safe to say that Crystal Palace are winning in the transfer market right now.

Few clubs have done business as well as the Eagles this summer.

In Marc Guehi, Michael Olise, Conor Gallagher and Joachim Andersen, Dougie Freedman has secured a quartet of pure quality.

In our view, it could get even better, thanks to the latter name among that quartet – Andersen.

Agent Andersen

Interestingly, The Athletic revealed that Andersen spoke to his Denmark teammate Kasper Dolberg about Patrick Vieira’s management style.

Dolberg spent time at OGC Nice under Vieira, so he knows all about the Frenchman – he was glowing in his review of the ex-Arsenal man.

In fact, to say he spent time under Vieira would be an understatement – he thrived under the 45-year-old’s tutelage.

Dolberg scored 14 goals in 37 games under Vieira.

Now, seeing as he’s the one who helped push Andersen towards SE25, we would imagine that Dolberg would also be keen on the switch.

Funnily enough, the 23-year-old has actually been linked with a move to Crystal Palace this summer.

Surely, Crystal Palace could sign Kasper Dolberg

The Athletic claim that Dolberg was effusive in his praise of Vieira.

Interestingly, the feeling is mutual, as Vieira has also called the Dane a ‘world class‘ forward in the past.

In that respect, if the Eagles stump up the cash for Dolberg – who has been likened to Marco van Basten – then this could be quite a simple deal to complete.

Dolberg will also have a friend at Selhurst Park in Andersen, making a move to SE25 all the more attractive for him.

In our view, if Crystal Palace want the 30-cap Denmark international, they’re in a fantastic position to land him.
