A rivalry was born between Crystal Palace and Nottingham Forest during the summer of 2025.
The Reds wrote a letter of complaint to UEFA back in June, according to the Guardian, arguing that they should take the place of Crystal Palace in the UEFA Europa League due to concerns over John Textor and multi-club ownership rules, seeing as Lyon had also qualified for the competition.
Steve Parish was left furious as Evangelos Marinakis won the fight and shoved the Eagles down into the UEFA Conference League after a lengthy legal battle.
It was an unjust decision considering how little influence Textor actually had at Selhurst Park – but Nottingham Forest have now made Crystal Palace look amateurish after admirably listening to complaints about ticket prices.
Crystal Palace could learn from Nottingham Forest as revised ticket prices emerge
Nottingham Forest fans were livid after hearing that tickets for the UEFA Europa League Round of 16 clash against Midtjylland had been priced between £50 and £70.
After backlash, Marinakis – who sacked Mile Jedinak along with Ange Postecoglou earlier this season – listened, and has now released an official statement to apologise and announce that prices for adults had been dropped to between £15 and £30, with tickets for children starting at £5.

Crystal Palace fans are facing a similar issue, after having to pay £40 to attend the 2-0 win over Zrinjski Mostar in the Round of 32 clash at Selhurst Park, and the same price if they want to watch the visit of AEK Larnaca in the first leg of the Round of 16.
The Holmesdale Fanatics – who are often the voice of reason within the fanbase – even displayed a banner protesting against the pricing during that win over Zrinjski Mostar, which read: “Forty quid? Palace fans fleeced = empty seats.”
It is rare for owners to actually listen and respond promptly when fans complain about ticket prices, so despite becoming public enemy number one at Crystal Palace last summer, Marinakis has shown Parish how an owner should act when supporters highlight a problem.
