SAKA, ANTONY AND 10 PREMIER LEAGUE STARS HEADING TO THEIR FIRST WORLD CUP
Much has been made of Liverpool’s injury crisis this season by the likes of Sky Sports, The Athletic and other media outlets.
Jürgen Klopp has been without key men such as Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez for huge chunks of the season, but what about Crystal Palace?
A tweet from Premier League Injury Analyst Ben Dinnery showed that the Eagles have amassed a total of 197 games this season in which a player has missed out through injury.
Reported absence: Crystal Palace have amassed a total of (197) games missed through injury/illness in 2020/21. The most in the Premier League. Liverpool (178) are second with Newcastle (133) in third.

Incredibly, that is the most of any Premier League club, with Liverpool second on 178 games.
To make matters worse, this isn’t the first season we’ve had injury issues.
In that respect, do we need to think about investing in a new physio team, or fitness analysts, this summer?
It may just be the fact that we’ve got a fairly old squad whose bodies are creaking and, therefore, are more susceptible to injuries.
However, it’s not like we play fast-paced football like Liverpool, where Klopp makes his players press the opposition like crazy.
There’s no point building a good squad if injuries keep cropping up and ruining our momentum.
Of course, we’d still like to see Dougie Freedman and Steve Parish sign a few new faces this summer.
Having said that, surely Parish needs to take a look at every way possible in which we could lessen the amount of injuries our players suffer.
It’s become a worrying theme, and something needs to be done.
