Roy Hodgson saw defeat once more in the Premier League last night as Bournemouth beat Crystal Palace 2-0.
The result hasn’t been well received by Crystal Palace fans with many now beginning to turn on Roy Hodgson.
The loss made it one point from four games and just two wins in the last 10 games.
This was the final straw for many fans of the club, but following the game, Roy Hodgson didn’t help himself, instead making comments which annoyed fans further.
Due to this, it could be possible that the manager has turned fans completely against him now, here’s why.
Roy Hodgson may have turned every Crystal Palace fan against him
Following the defeat to Bournemouth, Roy Hodgson came out with a bizarre comment suggesting that fans had no reason to be upset and were spoilt.
He told Amazon Prime in his post-game interview that, “The fans have been spoiled here in recent times.”
That’s a weird comment to make, considering Crystal Palace haven’t won a game at Selhurst Park since September 3rd.
A comment which really couldn’t be further from the truth and with Liverpool and Brighton being the next two home games, Hodgson will do well to change that record.
To put in a performance as poor as his team did before then turn the criticism onto the fans labelling them as spoiled is quite frankly ridiculous.
Booed off the pitch last night, it wouldn’t be a shock to see that trend continue especially if Liverpool turn up this coming weekend.
Will Crystal Palace get rid of Roy Hodgson?
After the poor run of form, to suggest Hodgson could be heading out the door isn’t an unreasonable thought.
The 76-year-old seems out of his depth right now and Palace could think it best to act before it’s too late so a sacking may not be far off.
Obviously, Hodgson deserves respect for everything he’s done in football but Palace can’t afford to wait this out as the teams currently in the relegation spots edge closer.
