One Crystal Palace star is now leaning towards a move to Tottenham this summer.

Oliver Glasner has already watched Michael Olise walk out of Selhurst Park – the France U21 international joined Bayern Munich in a £50.8m deal.

Ebere Eze keen on Tottenham move

A story from Football Transfers now states that Ebere Eze is keen to join Tottenham – not Arsenal.

It is said that both of the north Londoners want to sign the England international this summer, although the Crystal Palace No.10 is unsure whether he would receive much playing time under Mikel Arteta, given the strength of Arsenal’s attacking options.

Eze clearly does not see Tottenham as being that well equipped in terms of attacking quality compared to Arsenal, as he is now leaning towards a move to N17 – in order to play regular football for a side competing in Europe.

Arsenal are said to have made tentative contact with the 26-year-old’s representatives, although Crystal Palace are also planning to speak to the Londoner’s camp when he gets back from UEFA Euro 2024 duty, with a new contract potentially in the offing.

Eze currently earns £100,000-a-week in SE25 after signing a fresh deal in November 2023.

Crystal Palace No.10 should wait

In our view, Eze could get a better – or more sensible – move if he spent one more season at Selhurst Park.

Ange Postecoglou typically uses a 4-2-3-1 formation at Tottenham which obviously only includes one No.10 spot, an area James Maddison usually occupies.

Therefore, Eze could be shoved out on the left wing like he was at times under Roy Hodgson, where he struggled to make an impact.

The man from Greenwich has only scored seven goals in 48 appearances on the left, compared to 13 in 34 games in a central attacking midfield role.

In our view, Eze is also easily capable of playing UEFA Champions League football now, so he can do better than join a UEFA Europa League side with his immense talent.
