Adam Wharton has experienced an eventful international break this month – his first since joining Crystal Palace.
The Crystal Palace No.20 earned a promotion from the England U20 squad to the England U21 setup thanks to some excellent performances – making his debut for the new age group in a 7-0 win over Luxembourg.
After that resounding win, Adam Wharton actually received a message from a player who Crystal Palace want to sign…

Well, it was Lewis Hall who got in touch with the 20-year-old.
A story from Alan Nixon recently stated that Dougie Freedman is keeping a very close eye on the Newcastle No.20 – amid doubts about whether the Magpies will actually be signing him permanently.
Newcastle agreed a loan deal with Chelsea back in August – hijacking Hall’s move to Selhurst Park in the process – and the switch becomes permanent for £28m if a certain amount of appearances are made.
However, the 19-year-old has only amassed 12 appearances so far this season, and Nixon believes Freedman is ready to bid to sign the teenager from Chelsea if Newcastle fall out of the conversation.
Now, Wharton could also play a part, as the pair appear to be friends.
Hall wrote “😍” in response to the £22m Crystal Palace man’s Instagram post celebrating his England U21 debut, clearly delighted by his pal’s progress.
Wharton also liked the comment.
Lewis Hall would be perfect
As talented as Tyrick Mitchell is, Hall would be an even better fit for the left wing-back role under Oliver Glasner.
The Slough-born defender is an immense technician who can cause real problems in the final third.
Gary Neville even described Hall as a “beautiful” footballer after he scored against Manchester United at Old Trafford in the Carabao Cup earlier this season, while Gareth Southgate has also invited him to train with England.

The situation at Newcastle is very strange, as the defender seemed destined to become a real hit on Tyneside – especially as he supports the Magpies.
Nevertheless, if Freedman can find a way to get Hall to Crystal Palace as a result of the wonderkid’s problems under Eddie Howe, it would be a real bonus for Glasner.
