Why Chelsea FINALLY Turned A Corner.
Vicente Guaita has now asked to leave Crystal Palace for a return to Spain – and has ignored the offer of a new contract.
That is according to Eldesmarque.
So, what is the situation involving Vicente Guaita and Crystal Palace? Let’s take a look…
What’s the story?
Well, we thought something was up when Roy Hodgson left the Spaniard out of his squad for our trip to the United States.
Guaita was also seen to be liking messages wishing him well on Twitter, which strongly suggested that he plans to leave Selhurst Park this summer.
Now – thanks to Eldesmarque – there has been some clarity about the situation.
The Spanish news outlet believe Guaita has asked to leave Crystal Palace this summer, and is hoping to re-join Valencia.
From 2008 to 2014, the £67,000-a-week glovesman made 113 appearances for Valencia.
However, Guaita is only likely to seal a return to Valencia if Giorgi Mamardashvili leaves, according to Eldesmarque.
Time is right for Vicente Guaita to leave Crystal Palace
While it will be sad to see Guaita leave south London, given his status as a fan favourite, the time is right for him to move on.
The Torrente-born glovesman turns 37 in January, and also has just 12 months remaining on his contract in SE25.
Seeing as Guaita is refusing to sign a new deal, it would make sense to sell him this summer, as this window represents our last chance to get a fee for him.
Furthermore, the Crystal Palace No.13 lost his place to Sam Johnstone at the end of last season, so you can understand why he would like to get back to playing regularly.
If Valencia do manage to strike a deal with Crystal Palace – however – Dougie Freedman must find a backup option, as Jack Butland left for Rangers a few weeks ago.
Be sure to keep an eye on this situation, as Guaita looks set to leave this summer.
