Crystal Palace could now finally sign a player who has been linked with a move to SE25 for years.
There was already money for Dougie Freedman to spend this summer, although the £55m sale of Michael Olise to Bayern Munich has provided more funds for the Glaswegian to play with.
Now, this money could see a long-term target for Crystal Palace finally make the move to Selhurst Park…
Crystal Palace could sign Ismaila Sarr
A story from The Sun now claims that Crystal Palace could sign Ismaila Sarr to replace Olise.
It is said that the Senegal international – who the Daily Mail claimed back in October 2020 was the subject of a £25m bid from Crystal Palace – is now available for £20m this summer.
The Sun add that the Olise money will be put towards a “hectic” transfer spree for the Eagles, who could also lose Marc Guehi in a £50m move to Real Madrid after UEFA Euro 2024 is over.

It is also said that Freedman is still working on a deal to sign Antonio Nusa from Club Brugge, so the Norway international could arrive at Selhurst Park as well as Sarr.
The Marseille No.23 scored five goals and provided six assists in 35 appearances last season.
£20m move could prove to be very wise
In our view, a £20m move for Sarr would make a lot of sense this summer.
Sarr is still only 26 years of age, and proved during his time in the Premier League with Watford that he can be a real handful for defenders.
Some will recall it was actually the Senegalese forward who ended Liverpool’s remarkable 44-game unbeaten run back in February 2020 with a brilliant double, to secure a 3-0 win.

Crucially, Sarr can operate on the left, right or in the centre of attack, so in terms of providing quality depth to the frontline, this proposed £20m move could prove to be a bargain.
