Crystal Palace made a mess of the summer transfer window in regards to a few loan deals.
Odsonne Edouard is struggling at Leicester – with the Frenchman yet to start for the Foxes in the Premier League since joining on loan on transfer deadline day.
Malcolm Ebiowei is also failing to get much out of his loan spell at Oxford – making just four appearances in the Championship so far this season, totalling only 44 minutes.
Naouirou Ahamada is also having a hard time at Rennes – and Crystal Palace are now in discussions with the French side to put things right.
Crystal Palace in talks with Rennes to terminate Naouirou Ahamada loan
A story from Jeunes Footeux now states that Crystal Palace are in negotiations to rip up the loan agreement with Rennes.
Ahamada, who compared Jean-Philippe Mateta to Ronaldo recently, is yet to play a single second of football under Jorge Sampaoli in Ligue 1, and has not even been named in any of the last three matchday squads.
As such, the French news outlet believe Rennes and Crystal Palace are now holding talks to terminate the loan deal, although the Eagles have one condition they need to be met.
Jeunes Footeux believe Crystal Palace want to find a new loan move for Ahamada before agreeing to let him leave, as talks with Frederic Massara – Sporting Director of Rennes – go on.
The 22-year-old himself is keen to leave Rennes, although it sounds as if Oliver Glasner also has no plans to use him back at Selhurst Park, so another loan move is preferred by the Eagles.
Dougie Freedman must find Naouirou Ahamada an English club
In his limited appearances for Crystal Palace – 31 to be exact – Ahamada has looked tidy on the ball, but a bit lightweight in terms of physique.
Of course, players can beef themselves up in the gym, but playing against giants like Declan Rice and Rodri in midfield will require regular practice on the pitch in English football, a country known for its physical approach to the sport.
Therefore, Dougie Freedman – Director of Football at Crystal Palace – should seek to find Ahamada a loan move to an English club, preferably the Championship where his chances of playing time will be higher compared to a Premier League side.
Hopefully, the £20,000-a-week midfielder can find a place to settle down for the second half of the campaign.
