Crystal Palace are still searching for a new midfielder and that hunt could have found a perfect target in one Man United player.
Three players have arrived through the doors at Copers Cope this summer, yet there is a belief that Dougie Freedman is far from concluded in his work.
A central midfielder is the position yet to be added to which seems to always have links with a player coming into Crystal Palace.
Sofyan Amrabat was one midfielder linked over the past few months as was Norwich’s Gabriel Sara who would have been an excellent and versatile midfield addition.
Aster Vranckx has been linked on multiple occasions this summer, yet with an already bolstered group, any addition would need to be an upgrade and bring something new.
The most recent player to be linked would bring just that.

Scott McTominay is wanted by Crystal Palace
While Palace have strengthened this season, signing a player like Scott McTominay would arguably be the biggest addition possible this summer.
According to the Scottish Sun, McTominay is a player that the Eagles are looking into the prospects of signing this summer with Manchester United open to his departure.
Palace are interested and have the funds to spend on a player in McTominay who could slot straight into the first-team at Selhurst Park.
That being said the Scotland international is attracting lots of interest and a deal will not be easy.
Fulham are keen after already bidding, Brighton are also huge admirers of the goal-scoring midfielder and Napoli are one foreign side who are keen.
Man United No.39 would certainly be a top signing
McTominay if used correctly could be an incredible weapon for Oliver Glasner who could be a goal machine in the No.10 position.
Deployed behind Rasmus Hojlund last season by Erik ten Hag, McTominay became an expert at timing his runs into the box where he scored seven Premier League goals.
For Scotland, he was also a goal machine as he grabbed seven goals in Euro 2024 qualifying – more than Erling Haaland managed.
With the pressing and quick-breaking football that Glasner wants to play, McTominay could be an impeccable addition to play alongside Ebere Eze or Daichi Kamada – after the Japan international’s impressive debut.
This would be a very exciting deal and one we would love to see come off.
