Crystal Palace’s priority right now is replacing Michael Olise, and with this signing, they could do just that.
The prospect of losing Michael Olise this summer was always a very real one with interested clubs circling for what feels like the entire past season.
With Chelsea looking likely to win the race for his signature, Bayern Munich swooped in late and secured the signing, as we now await the finalisation of the transfer.
This has left Dougie Freedman with the job of recruiting a replacement for Oliver Glasner’s squad, with multiple options being rumoured already.
But now, the most recent reports have suggested that the ideal replacement has now been bid for.

Crystal Palace submit a bid for Jaden Philogene
To replace Olise it seems like Palace has two main options. These are Antonio Nusa of Club Brugge and Hull City’s Jaden Philogene.
Now, days after Fabrizio Romano reported that a proposal had been sent to Philogene, it has been reported that a bid has been submitted to Hull by the Eagles.
It comes from TeamTalk who explain that Palace have launched a bid to sign Philogene from Hull. There is no mention of the price, but Hull owner Acun Ilicali has previously advised interested parties that they will only sell for £30m and above.
“This will be our policy. Just like Real Madrid bought Arda Guler. We got Jaden Philogene for £5m, now it’s £30m.”
Philogene is one of the only players who can resemble Olise’s tricky and breathtaking style with his goal from 2023/24 against Rotherham being the perfect example of this.

Philogene is actually better than Jude Bellingham in some ways
Philogene is so creative on the wings, both for himself with his dribbling or for his teammates and this is exactly how Palace should be looking to replace Olise.
Philogene’s impact can be seen when he is compared with Jude Bellingham in three areas in which the Hull man shines.

Philogene looks like he has all the ability and potential to replace Olise and possibly even succeed him, so he’d be an excellent signing if Palace were able to pull it off.
