Crystal Palace now want to sign Archie Gray from Leeds United – a talent who has been compared to Sergio Aguero.
That is according to Alan Nixon.
So, what was said about Archie Gray and Crystal Palace? Let’s take a look…
What’s the story?
Well – at the age of just 17 – the teenager is already making a big impact at Elland Road.
Gray has made seven Championship starts so far this season under Daniel Farke, impressing in a defensive midfield role for the Whites after they were relegated from the Premier League last term.

As a result, the England Under-17 international has caught the attention of Dougie Freedman.
Nixon believes we are keeping an eye on Gray as Steve Parish aims to future-proof the midfield department, with Adam Wharton of Blackburn Rovers also on our radar.
Crystal Palace target Archie Gray has been compared to Sergio Aguero
Interestingly, Gray has been compared to Aguero – one of the best forward to play the game – despite the fact he plays in a vastly different position to the Argentine.
It was actually Victor Orta – working as Director of Football at Leeds United at the time – who made these comments when speaking to La Media Inglesa.

Discussing Gray’s vast potential, the Spaniard said: “Hopefully nobody takes him away from us. Nobody is going to do that, he has Leeds in his blood. In the South America Under-20 tournament Aguero scored ten or 12 goals or something like that, you could see he was different. Archie gives me the same feeling.”
Now, that surely put a lot of pressure on the Leeds United No.22’s shoulders, but he has still managed to become a first-team regular in Yorkshire, which is testament to his quality.
Be sure to keep an eye on Gray’s situation, as he would be an outstanding signing for Crystal Palace.
