Crystal Palace are now looking to bring in a player that Oliver Glasner knows well this summer, according to Italian reports.
There are two developing trends among a lot of Crystal Palace‘s rumoured transfer targets, and they seem to point toward the two men who will be locked in discussions over who to sign.
For a start, it’s Dougie Freedman who’ll be doing the heavy lifting in terms of recruitment and as he so often favours, a lot of the linked players have been of EFL origin.
But it won’t just be Freedman, with Oliver Glasner we imagine having some authority over transfers, with many of the names mentioned having either worked under Glasner or played in Germany before.
The latest player to be linked with a Selhurst Park move is more of the same.
Crystal Palace to target a move for Filip Kostic
Attention has turned to the transfer window this week for Palace, with safety guaranteed which has led to several new rumours.
Now, TuttoSport in Italy has reported that a new name on the list could be 31-year-old Juventus man Filip Kostic.
The report states that Kostic is likely to depart and would say yes to a move to London with £8.5m the fee tipped to be enough.
Interest from Palace has only emerged over the past few days, with Glasner having coached Kostic at Eintracht Frankfurt, where the wing-back was likened to Gareth Bale.
Kostic would fit the bill perfectly as a new left wing-back to either support or replace Tyrick Mitchell depending on the Austrian’s plans.

How would Filip Kostic fit in at Selhurst Park?
Kostic has long been a player in Europe sporadically linked with a move to England and this summer could be when it happens, despite some Saudi Pro League links.
He’s a top player and below are some of his highlights for Frankfurt under the management of Glasner.
For Juventus this season, Kostic has made 27 appearances with four assists. That being said he should’ve had a lot more and he’s a wing-back that Jean-Philippe Mateta would love to play with.
According to FotMob, Kostic has created on average two chances per 90 and also completes 2.15 crosses per 90 on average.
This would have him as a really strong choice to be signed to play on the left if Glasner is looking for a different profile to Mitchell.
