Crystal Palace have had the price tag of one of their reported summer targets revealed, with the Eagles set to require a high fee to land exciting attacking jewel, Matias Soule.

Crystal Palace could already look towards the summer transfer window as Oliver Glasner prepares for his first in charge of the squad.

The Austrian will have a host of changes he wants to make to the squad he inherited from Roy Hodgson, as the Eagles look to find new heights next season after a trialling campaign.

Sitting seven points above the bottom three and setting unwanted records in the Premier League was far from what Steve Parish would have wanted to see this term, however, the club could be braced for a busy summer.

Crystal Palace told of the fee they will have to pay for Matias Soule

In a report courtesy of Italian news outlet, CalcioMercato, the price tag of highly-rated Frosinone starlet Matias Soule has been revealed.

The report names Palace as one of the sides interested in the 20-year-old, with Juventus, Newcastle United and Aston Villa also said to be ‘in the running’.

It’s suspected that the struggling Serie A side are expected to demand a fee in the region of €40m (£37m) for the attacker, who was presented with a mere €25m offer from Al-Ittihad in January.

Palace are expected to face a lot of competition for the youngster, who has been an exciting player to watch develop in the Italian top tier this campaign.

Matias Soule might just be worth his price tag

If Glasner wants to bolster his attack this summer, then Soule may well be the man to replenish the Eagles’ front line in the instance that Michael Olise was to depart.

The Frenchman has been linked with a host of speculation regarding his future, with Soule having the grounds to replace the 22-year-old if Palace were to delve into business.

Lauded as being a player that can “produce magic” in a “Messi-esque” demeanour by talent scout Jacek Kulig, the young Argentine has lit up Serie A this term despite Frosinone’s relegation battle.

In 27 appearances, the 20-year-old has scored 10 goals in the top flight, as well as recording two assists and performing at an incredibly high-level game-by-game.

As per FBref, no player in Soule’s position in Serie A averages a higher rate of successful take-ons per 90 than the versatile asset this season, who records a monstrous 3.18 per 90.

When it comes to the possibility of having to replenish the attack if Olise were to depart, the 2003-born gem shows close parallels in the dynamism he brings to the pitch, with the Palace ace averaging 3.22 successful take-ons per 90 in the Premier League this term to highlight the closeness in their threat.

With other clubs said to be eyeing the talents of Soule, Palace will face a battle to secure the 20-year-old who at £37m, could be a risk worth taking for Parish.
