It means that, for all of Crystal Palace’s record transfer sales, there have been very few big signings in the market.

10 – Odsonne Edouard – £14m

After an impressive stint at Celtic, in which he scored 87 goals in 179 appearances, Crystal Palace shelled out £14million to sign striker Odsonne Edouard.

The Frenchman had shown promising signs in Scotland, following a youth career at PSG that had him touted for the top.

A transfer switch in January 2021 came with hopes that his form would carry over to the Premier League, but he has struggled to do so at this moment in time.

Crystal Palace boss Oliver Glasner saw his defensive options bolstered in the summer of 2024 as his side picked up Chadi Riad from Barcelona for £14million.

The Moroccan international cemented himself as a top-level centre-back in his time on loan at Real Betis, leading to his switch to Selhurst Park.

In August 2023, the Eagles made the bold move to add another impressive goalkeeper to their squad by signing Dean Henderson.

The shotstopper joined from Manchester United for a fee worth £15million, making some important contributions in his first season at the club.

7 – Joachim Andersen – £15.4m

Joachim Andersen joined Crystal Palace in July 2021 after his loan spell at Fulham and has been a stalwart at the back ever since.

The Danish international has even captained the club on some occasions, showing leadership in the absence of Joel Ward.

Crystal Palace paid just £15.6million to land the winger from QPR in 2020, who has since progressed to become a standout star for the team.

Palace dipped back into the Championship market in January 2024, landing midfielder Adam Wharton from Blackburn Rovers.

While he is just at the start of his career at Selhurst Park, his impressive performances have made the £18million price tag seem a bargain.

Midfielder Cheick Doucoure made the £19.8million move to Crystal Palace from RC Lens in July 2022.

The Mali international showed his quality in the two seasons he has spent so far, landing a new contract until 2029.

Crystal Palace paid out a huge £26million to sign defender Mamadou Sakho from Liverpool in the 2017 summer transfer market.

The centre-back made 75 appearances for the Eagles, scoring one goal in a four-year stay at the club.

1 – Christian Benteke – £27m

The record signing for Crystal Palace is currently held by Christian Benteke, who joined the club in August 2016 from Liverpool for a fee worth £27million.

The striker became something of an icon at Selhurst Park, making 177 appearances, scoring 37 goals and assisting 11.

His six-year stay at Palace saw him play many roles, from guaranteed starter to impact substitute, showing some of his quality in that time.
