The Gunners and the Eagles have already been in discussions this week as a £30m deal for Eddie Nketiah is on the verge of completion.
Now – however – Arsenal have caused a bit of a headache for Crystal Palace…
Arsenal cause Crystal Palace to miss out on Mark Travers
A story from The Athletic claimed that Crystal Palace wanted to sign Mark Travers from Bournemouth as a replacement for Sam Johnstone.
In case you missed it, the England international is heading to Wolves after a £10m fee was agreed – with the man from Preston keen to leave Selhurst Park having lost his No.1 shirt to Dean Henderson.

However – according to Alex Crook of talkSPORT – Travers will now be staying at Bournemouth to deputise for Kepa Arrizabalaga, after Arsenal decided to sign Neto.
The Gunners were initially trying to sign Espanyol No.1 Joan Garcia as Aaron Ramsdale prepares to join Southampton in a £25m deal, but after the Spaniard was deemed to be too expensive, a loan move for the Bournemouth No.1 is now being pushed through instead.
A story from Football London states that Neto is already undergoing his medical at Arsenal, so Crystal Palace will definitely have to move on from Travers – who The Irish Sun claimed is valued at £10m by Bournemouth.
Dougie Freedman already moving on
Time is of the essence on transfer deadline day, and Dougie Freedman – Director of Football at Selhurst Park – has swiftly moved on to another goalkeeper who can act as No.2 behind Henderson.
Sources have told We Are Palace that a deal to sign Matt Turner on loan from Nottingham Forest looks set to materialise after the development involving Travers.
The United States glovesman – who plays in goal behind Chris Richards on international duty – has been shoved aside at the City Ground after Carlos Miguel was signed from Corinthians, making him third choice behind Matz Sels and the Brazilian.
