Crystal Palace will hope to sign a striker in the summer, with Bundesliga star Serhou Guirassy and Arsenal’s Eddie Nketiah named as two players the Eagles like.
Oliver Glasner will be eagerly awaiting the summer transfer window, giving the Austrian his first chance to bolster his Crystal Palace squad.
The former Eintracht Frankfurt boss arrived in February to take the reins from Roy Hodgson with the aim to change the trajectory of the Eagles’ form.
So far, the 49-year-old has won four points from his opening three Premier League games, as well as orchestrating a 1-0 win in a friendly most recently against Bodo/Glimt.
While there have already been signs that Glasner can have a positive impact on the squad at Selhurst Park, the Europa League-winning manager will aim to reconstruct his side in the summer.
Crystal Palace could target a striker in the summer
The leading narrative surrounding Selhurst is the future of star duo Michael Olise and Eberechi Eze, who are both subject to a host of speculation going into the summer window.
That being said, it is also expected to be a busy time for incomings at Palace, with HITC journalist Graeme Bailey speaking exclusively to We Are Palace about Glasner’s plans to bolster his front line.
“It’s an interesting one with Palace, obviously we’ve got the new manager in, very well informed on the Bundesliga market so you would think he will be informing his hierarchy of what’s out there for good value.”
“There’s Guirassy, it wouldn’t surprise me to see him in England this summer, I think Palace will be one of the clubs involved. I think Nketiah, Palace like him as well.”
“Palace are in a decent position, a lot will depend on what happens with Olise and Eze to a certain extent, I think Olise is more likely to go than him at this moment.”
“They’re looking at strikers, they’ve got a certain budget so I don’t think we’d see Palace in for a Gyokeres for instance, I think they’ll want to buy a player before he gets to that level.”

With one Bundesliga talisman and a forward of Premier League calibre named as two potential targets, the Eagles could show a statement of intent with either of the signings.
Both players operate solely in the number nine role, giving Glasner the opportunity to significantly strengthen his squad in attack.
Having netted 22 goals in 20 appearances so far in the Bundesliga, Serhou Guirassy would undoubtedly be the stronger player to target out of the two, with Eddie Nketiah still seen as a rotation player at Arsenal.
That being said, the Englishman’s experience of playing in the Premier League is a plus however, his goal-scoring potency doesn’t come close to that of Guirassy.
Glasner will be well aware of the marvel in front of goal that is the VfB Stuttgart forward, who has scored 37 goals in 63 appearances in his career in the Bundesliga, with only Harry Kane outscoring him this term.
It would be a statement for Palace to secure the 28-year-old’s signature, however, interest is set to be rife with his release clause sitting at only €17.5m (£15m).
