Crystal Palace made a bid for Christos Tzolis back in August after Eberechi Eze asked to leave.
The Athletic claimed that Club Brugge rejected the undisclosed bid, but talks took place with the Greece international and an improved offer was expected.
A move to Selhurst Park ultimately failed to materialise for Tzolis and he remained in Belgium, where he just delivered a quite remarkable 2025/26 campaign for the Belgian giants.
Who is your DREAM signing? ⭐️
Crystal Palace surely remain interested in Christos Tzolis after exceptional season
The Greek forward incredibly ended the 2025/26 campaign with 22 goals and 29 assists in 52 appearances across all competitions – almost averaging a goal involvement per game.
Tzolis caused havoc for opposition defenders cutting inside from the left flank on his preferred right foot, and at the age of just 24, would be a fine long-term signing for Crystal Palace.
It remains to be seen if the Eagles are still interested, especially as £35m was spent to sign Brennan Johnson from Tottenham back in January – a player who is yet to score for Crystal Palace after 26 appearances.

Should we manage to find a buyer for the Wales international, then perhaps a deal for Tzolis could be revisited, although we highly doubt Steve Parish – who is close to hiring Pierre Sage – will sanction a deal for the Club Brugge No.8 unless a forward is sold this summer.
Missing out on Tzolis, but then signing Johnson instead, raises question marks about our recruitment without Dougie Freedman going forward.
Ideally, if those on the recruitment team alongside Matt Hobbs feel a player is worth bidding for such as Tzolis, we would wait to make sure we get the right man – especially in a position which wasn’t exactly in need of an emergency arrival.
Now, we are stuck with Johnson on a contract running until July 2030, a deal worth £110,000-a-week according to Capology.
How can Brennan Johnson make a name for himself at Crystal Palace? 🏴
Had we landed Tzolis back in August, who knows whether the Welshman would have still been signed in January.
