Dougie Freedman is now trying to bring Jhon Cordoba to Crystal Palace following a recommendation from Jefferson Lerma.
That is according to the Evening Standard.
So, what is the situation involving Crystal Palace and Jhon Cordoba? Let’s take a look…
Crystal Palace want Jhon Cordoba
Well – according to the Evening Standard – the Eagles are eyeing a loan move for the Colombia international this month.
Lerma is said to have recommended his fellow countryman to Freedman as Crystal Palace attempt to find a new striker, with an option to buy likely to be involved in any agreement.
The Evening Standard add that Everton are also interested in Cordoba – although any deal will be tricky to complete given the need to negotiate with a Russian side in Krasnodar.

It is said that deals involving Russian clubs have become complex since Russia invaded Ukraine in 2022 and were consequently exiled from the European football community.
Nevertheless, if a transfer can be finalised, Cordoba’s preference is believed to be a move to the Premier League.
The 30-year-old has impressed so far this season with 11 goals and four assists across 20 appearances in all competitions.
Jhon Cordoba pursuit may not be worth it
In our view, this complex deal may not be worth doing with time of the essence this month.
Even if Cordoba does join Crystal Palace and becomes a hit, he would not represent a long-term investment at the age of 30.

Jean-Philippe Mateta and Odsonne Edouard are both 26 years of age, so they should just be about to enter their prime years as a striker.
Therefore, it would make more sense to give them playing time – or sign a forward younger than 26, such as Hugo Ekitike or Eddie Nketiah – instead of bringing Cordoba to Selhurst Park.
Be sure to keep an eye on this situation – however – as anything could happen before transfer deadline day.
