'Keen on the move': Crystal Palace now ready to bid £15m for striker, he wants to join

Why Chelsea FINALLY Turned A Corner.

Crystal Palace are now pushing to sign Kelechi Iheanacho from Leicester before Friday’s transfer deadline.

That is according to Florian Plettenburg of Sky Germany.

So, what is the latest on Kelechi Iheanacho and Crystal Palace? Let’s take a look…

What’s the story?

Well, the Nigeria international could be arriving at Selhurst Park this week if all goes to plan.

Plettenburg believes Steve Parish and Dougie Freedman are ready to bid a maximum of £15m for Iheanacho as the pair aim to bolster Roy Hodgson’s attack.

It is said that Leicester want £18m for their No.14’s signature, and negotiations have currently stalled.

However, Plettenburg adds that Iheanacho is keen to join Crystal Palace, which is a huge positive – if the striker pushes to leave and becomes a disruptive figure, the Foxes will be forced to accept a lower fee.

After all, the 26-year-old has already entered the final 12 months of his contract at the King Power Stadium, so Leicester are not in the strongest negotiating position, to say the least.

Crystal Palace must get Kelechi Iheanacho deal over the line

In this day and age, proven Premier League strikers do not come around often for £18m.

Iheanacho has 42 Premier League goals to his name as well as 25 assists, and his ability to link up play must also be noted.

Far too often, Hodgson’s attack looks disjointed with very few combinations happening in the final third.

The likes of Odsonne Edouard and Jean-Philippe Mateta are usually static up top, which makes it easy for opposition defenders to keep them quiet, and also makes it easy for them to focus on silencing Eberechi Eze and Michael Olise.

However, Iheanacho is someone who can run in behind, or come short to play off his fellow forwards, so his potential arrival at Selhurst Park could be the answer to our attacking issues.

Be sure to keep an eye on this situation, with just a couple of days to go until Friday’s transfer deadline.
