Crystal Palace could decide to sell Sam Johnstone if a bid worth £15m is made before the transfer deadline.

Well, this would be a major shock.
Alex Crook of talkSPORT claimed on Tuesday that Johnstone is “one to keep an eye on” ahead of Thursday night’s transfer deadline – as Nottingham Forest consider a move.
Now – according to Dorsett – talks are taking place between Crystal Palace and Nottingham Forest, although it would require a bid of around £15m to bring the Eagles to the negotiating table.
The Sky Sports correspondent wrote on X (previously known as Twitter): “Nottingham Forest talking to Crystal Palace re Sam Johnstone.
“The England GK (goalkeeper) is happy at Palace but wants regular football because of summer Euros – he is Southgate’s no.2. Palace don’t want to sell, but £12m – £15m may bring them to the table. Forest can only afford that if they get £20m+ for Mangala.”
Johnstone is currently behind Dean Henderson in the pecking order under Roy Hodgson, having lost his No.1 spot after picking up an injury in the 2-1 defeat to Liverpool at Selhurst Park.
Selling Sam Johnstone to Nottingham Forest would be risky
In our view, this sale cannot happen – it would be madness to strengthen a relegation rival at this stage of the season.
Nottingham Forest – currently sat 16th in the Premier League – are just four points behind Crystal Palace.
Nuno Espirito Santo also finds himself without a reliable goalkeeper – a position which can be worth at least ten points a season – so if Crystal Palace help Nottingham Forest out by allowing Johnstone to move to the City Ground, it could backfire significantly.
