SAKA, ANTONY AND 10 PREMIER LEAGUE STARS HEADING TO THEIR FIRST WORLD CUP
According to The Express, Crystal Palace are keen to sign Chelsea’s Conor Gallagher this summer.
The 5-cap England Under-21 international is currently enjoying a season-long loan at West Brom, where he has scored two Premier League goals.
You may remember him bagging an equaliser against us at the Hawthorns in December, before we steamed towards a 5-1 win.
The Express claim the 21-year-old would cost £9 million.
Evidently, Gallagher has been on our radar for a while.
We agreed a deal with Chelsea for him over the summer, and even had the floppy-haired maestro in for a medical.
However, Michy Batshuayi then became available.
Premier League rules state you cannot loan two players from one club, and with the need for a striker more urgent, the Belgian was prioritised as The Athletic documented.
However, in that respect, Dougie Freedman has clearly seen something he likes in Gallagher.
Additionally, the Epsom-born midfielder knows this part of the world quite well.
Gallagher spent a period of the 2019/20 campaign on loan at our south London rivals Charlton, netting six goals in 24 games for the Addicks.
Hopefully, that would mean he wouldn’t require much time to settle in, if we can secure his services this summer.
