Crystal Palace are now said to be interested in signing Krepin Diatta.
It was Ekrem Konur who made the claim for German news outlet Fussballdaten – adding that Bayer Leverkusen and Hoffenheim are also keen to sign the Senegal international.
As Crystal Palace consider offering Diatta a contract after his release from Monaco, let’s take a closer look at the international colleague of Ismaila Sarr.

Meet Krepin Diatta: A potential Swiss Army Knife for Pierre Sage
Monaco opted not to offer Diatta a new contract when his deal expired at the end of last season as the French side aim to cut costs this summer, but the 27-year-old could well prove highly useful elsewhere.
The man born in Dakar has played in eight different positions throughout his career, ranging from left-back to striker.
| Position | Appearances | Goals | Assists |
|---|---|---|---|
| Right Winger | 76 | 15 | 6 |
| Right Midfield | 50 | 6 | 3 |
| Left Midfield | 27 | 3 | 6 |
| Centre-Forward | 20 | 8 | 8 |
| Left Winger | 12 | 3 | 1 |
| Right-Back | 8 | 0 | 1 |
| Left-Back | 5 | 0 | 0 |
| Second Striker | 1 | 0 | 0 |
As you can see, Diatta is capable of being a real utility player under Pierre Sage if a deal materialises, given his ability to play in defence and attack to a decent standard.
The former Club Brugge star even provided an assist last season as Monaco held Manchester City to a 2-2 draw in the UEFA Champions League.
With a total of 65 caps for Senegal under his belt too, Diatta would bring plenty of international experience to south London with him, where a friend of his already plays in Sarr.
The pair have previously made 47 appearances together for Senegal – combining to score one goal.

Several reports have claimed that Crystal Palace are keen to learn from the mistake of not padding out the squad with enough depth for a European campaign last summer. The Eagles did win the UEFA Conference League but disappointingly finished 15th in the Premier League.
Therefore, signing Diatta could be a cheap way for Matt Hobbs to give Sage a versatile option who can cover many areas in the 2026/27 campaign.
At the age of just 27 as well – which means he carries potential resale value – it may prove to be a financial masterstroke if the Senegal international shines in the Premier League.
The same can already be said for our only arrival of the summer so far in Oscar Mingueza, an experienced 27-year-old who arrived on a free transfer after leaving Celta Vigo.
The Spain international will quickly become a £30m player in this market – at least – if he proves himself capable of handling Premier League football.

Fussballdaten add that Diatta is seeking a yearly salary of €2.5m (£2.1m) at his next club, which equates to around £40,000-a-week. The report states that Crystal Palace will have no problems in terms of meeting this request, so be sure to keep an eye on this situation.
