"Will miss you": Mitchell messages £1m man as he joins McArthur & Milivojevic in leaving Palace

Why Chelsea FINALLY Turned A Corner.

Tyrick Mitchell has sent a message to Jack Butland after the England international followed James McArthur and Luka Milivojevic in leaving Crystal Palace.

The 30-year-old has now joined Rangers on a free transfer after we decided not to extend his contract at Selhurst Park.

So, what did Mitchell say to Butland after he left Crystal Palace? Let’s take a look…

What’s the story?

Well, the Crystal Palace No.3 seemed to be close with the Bristol-born glovesman.

After Butland announced his move to Rangers on Instagram, Mitchell commented: “Will miss you my boy”.

The 23-year-old added a crying emoji to his comment – just to emphasise his sadness at Butland’s departure.

Mitchell shared a pitch with the new Rangers No.1 on 16 occasions following his £1m move from Stoke in October 2020, and the pair both started the FA Cup semi-final loss against Chelsea in the 2021/22 campaign.

While we won’t receive a fee for Butland as his move to Rangers is a free transfer, we will get his £40,000-a-week wages off the salary bill, which opens up the possibility for that sum to be reinvested into a new signing.

Jack Butland departure sees more experience leave Crystal Palace

After the experienced Butland departed – a man with nine England caps and 293 career appearances to his name – it must be noted that we have lost plenty of seniority at Crystal Palace already this summer.

As aforesaid, McArthur and Milivojevic have also departed, and we could even lose another experienced figure in Wilfried Zaha if he decides not to sign a new contract.

Perhaps that is why Steve Parish and Dougie Freedman have moved to renew the contracts of Joel Ward, Nathaniel Clyne and James Tomkins – according to The Athletic.

Everyone wants a young, exciting side of footballers in their prime years, but the importance of having wise heads to offer words of advice throughout a season cannot be understated.
