Oliver Glasner caused quite a stir at Crystal Palace recently after moving to Nottingham Forest.
Many expected the Austrian would move upwards after leaving Selhurst Park at the end of last season, to a side partaking in the UEFA Champions League or at least in the UEFA Europa League with us.
However, the 51-year-old has taken a sideways step by opting to replace Vitor Pereira at the City Ground, a controversial move among the Crystal Palace fanbase after Nottingham Forest complained and got the Eagles booted out of the UEFA Europa League in the summer of 2025.
Crystal Palace supporters on TalkingPoints have since been discussing whether Glasner has actually ruined his legacy at Selhurst Park with this decision. Whilst the fanbase can see both sides to the argument, there is a clear verdict.
Which felt better, winning the FA Cup or the UEFA Conference League?
What Crystal Palace fans are saying after Oliver Glasner moved to Nottingham Forest
There are a handful of Crystal Palace fans on TalkingPoints defending the man born in Salzburg, who will earn £13m-a-year at Nottingham Forest.
It is understood to be more than triple the salary Crystal Palace paid, which was believed to be £4m-a-year.
These supporters acknowledged the excellent work Glasner did in south London, and opted not to begrudge him a move to Nottingham Forest.
However, others were less understanding of Glasner’s decision after the recent beef between the Eagles and Nottingham Forest – who could not bring themselves to name Crystal Palace when announcing the appointment of the Austrian.

Some called the former Eintracht Frankfurt boss “Judas” while another labelled the move “a total lack of respect” for Crystal Palace.
As you can see below, more Crystal Palace fans seem to disagree with what Glasner has done compared to those who approve of it.
