Crystal Palace manager Roy Hodgson should now make one tactical tweak following the latest update on Eberechi Eze.
The player is injured for a couple of weeks.
So, what tactical change should Roy Hodgson make at Crystal Palace? Let’s take a look…
What’s the story?
Crystal Palace lost to Luton last weekend but that wasn’t the only bad news on the weekend as Eberechi Eze and Cheick Doucoure picked up injuries.
Doucoure’s injury is possibly season-ending, and he will be a huge loss for the club whilst sidelined. Meanwhile, Eze will miss around three weeks with his injury.
With West Ham away on the weekend, Hodgson needs to try and replace two key players, and we feel that going to a 4-4-2 would be the best way to do this.
The manager used this formation a lot in his first tenure at the Eagles and it would now be a good time to bring it back.

Crystal Palace manager should play 4-4-2 with key players injured
With Doucoure and Eze both injured, the Eagles will have to use some of their squad players. They have lost four out of their last five and have only scored 13 goals this season.
With this in mind, Hodgson needs to change the tactics to try and get more attacking quality out of the Palace side.
A 4-4-2 could be perfect in light of our current situation. We could see Odsonne Edouard paired up with either Jordan Ayew or Jean-Philippe Mateta.
Meanwhile, Michael Olise would occupy the right-wing and either Ayew or Jeffrey Schlupp would be on the left-wing, with Jefferson Lerma and Will Hughes in the middle.

With Mateta, Ayew and Schlupp all on the pitch with Edouard, it would hopefully give Palace a bit more in attack.
The team have struggled for goals this season, but in a 4-4-2 they can be more direct and also have a strong defensive setup. Something needs to change as it looks like Palace are becoming too predictable at the moment.
