Crystal Palace are not performing well at the moment and there is one worrying statistic which Roy Hodgson needs to sort out.
It is one which he normally succeeds at.
So, what worrying Crystal Palace statistic needs to be questioned? Let’s take a look…
What’s the story?
Crystal Palace had been performing well until mid-October despite having many injuries. They were picking up clean sheets but also picking up vital points which saw them in the top half.
Since the 4-0 defeat to Newcastle, the form has completely dropped and it hasn’t been good. Including that game, Palace have lost four out of the last five, including two losses to relegation-battling sides Everton and Luton.
The losses aren’t good but the more worrying statistic is the sheer amount of goals that they have conceded in these last five games.
Palace have conceded 11 goals in these last five games and for a team who have five clean sheets this season, the fact that their strength at the back has disappeared is very worrying.

Crystal Palace manager Roy Hodgson needs to sort out defence
Roy Hodgson is a manager who typically excels in defence, and this has been proven by the fact that the Eagles have the second-most clean sheets in the division this season.
The drop-off in terms of the defence over the last five games is not good, especially against some sides in which the manager would have expected a clean sheet in.
Now, the Eagles need to turn things around fast, especially due to the fact that they have a lot of tough fixtures in December.
It is another season where sadly the club are looking behind them rather than up in the division. If they do not sort out the defence soon then they are in trouble. The injury to Cheick Doucoure will not help things.

With the fixtures coming fast, the turnaround from the club will have to be pick. The next two matches against West Ham and Bournemouth are crucial.
Hopefully the Eagles can get back to winning ways sooner rather than later so that they can battle for a top half finish.
