When Crystal Palace expect Cheick Doucoure to return

We Are Palace have now received information on when Crystal Palace expect Cheick Doucoure to return from injury.

The Mali international has not featured for Crystal Palace since a 2-0 win over Leicester on January 15th due to a serious knee injury, which required surgery.

Oliver Glasner has managed to survive without the 2022/23 Player of the Season winner thanks to the brilliance of Adam Wharton and Will Hughes – but with a congested fixture list, the Eagles could certainly do with having the Malian back.

Sources have now informed We Are Palace that those at Selhurst Park estimate Cheick Doucoure will be back in action at the start of 2026.

Exclusive: Cheick Doucoure expected to return in early 2026

We understand Crystal Palace are estimating that the 25-year-old will be back in training shortly after the start of the New Year.

The Eagles do not want to rush Doucoure – who Liverpool wanted before his fitness issues.

He has suffered a range of problems, including Achilles damage, issues with a tendon in his toe and also the current knee issue keeping him sidelined.

There are no plans to rush the Crystal Palace No.28 – with everyone at Selhurst Park eager to give him every possible chance of getting back to his best.

The man born in Bamako is still contracted to Crystal Palace until July 2029, so he has time to prove his fitness.

What Oliver Glasner last said about Cheick Doucoure

Chadi Riad also remains sidelined at Crystal Palace, and Glasner briefly commented on Doucoure while mainly providing an update on the Morocco international on Friday.

The Austrian said: “It’s all fine. All players are fit. All are available. We have no injuries at the moment, so fingers crossed that this stays. Just in long term, of course, Chadi Riad and Cheick Doucoure but all others are fit and available.”

It was clearly a very brief update from Glasner, who is evidently taking a cautious approach with Doucoure in his media appearances as well by giving little away.
