Crystal Palace were defeated 3-1 by Chelsea on Monday night in which one player caught the eye in a stellar display.
Roy Hodgson saw his side succumb to another defeat on Monday night, as Crystal Palace were once more beaten.
This time it was Chelsea although the result wasn’t a fair reflection of the game and Palace probably deserved something from the game as Chelsea’s two late goals broke Selhurst Park‘s heart.

He lauded the 20-year-old midfielder as being a ‘Champions League player’ likely in terms of his potential and where he could end up in his career.
Wharton enjoyed a phenomenal full debut on an individual basis although the result was a massive blow as the performance was an improvement.
His emergence as a key player has been a blessing, at a time which sees Palace suffering from a host of injuries.

He also made 13 defensive actions, while winning 86% of his tackles attempted, again a very impressive amount.
On the ball, he made six passes into the final third and created two chances, but as you’d expect with possession not in Palace’s plan, he only completed 22 passes as he was tasked with stopping the opposition more than anything.
