Crystal Palace are now into the final of a European competition for the first time.

A 5-2 aggregate win over Shakhtar Donetsk will see Oliver Glasner lead the Eagles out in Leipzig against Rayo Vallecano on Wednesday 27th May, after the Spanish side defeated Strasbourg 2-0 across two legs.

Not only have Crystal Palace booked a spot in the UEFA Conference League final, but some prize money has also arrived at Selhurst Park as a result.

Was that our GREATEST night at Selhurst Park? 🤔

Crystal Palace to bank at least £3.4m after overcoming Shakhtar Donetsk

The runners-up of the UEFA Conference League are awarded £3.37m by UEFA, so that is the minimum sum Crystal Palace can receive from the final.

Should we defeat Rayo Vallecano and secure the trophy, UEFA would pay out £5.9m from that single match – with more to come from participation in the UEFA Europa League as well.

Overall, if Crystal Palace win the UEFA Conference League, progressing through each round would have earned the Eagles £11m.

Glasner – who Andoni Iraola may replace – recorded three wins and a draw from six outings in the league phase of the competition, earning Crystal Palace £1.12m, with a further £4m coming from each movement through the knockout phase.

Add that £5.12m to the £5.9m awarded for winning the final, and we would have banked £11m in total from our results in the competition alone.

As aforesaid, fees for participating in the UEFA Europa League would then follow in the 2026/27 season, along with broadcasting payments from TNT Sports.

Considering another option to replace Glasner in Kieran McKenna has an £8m release clause in his contract, this prize money could prove to be quite helpful for Parish this summer.
