Crystal Palace have a few loose ends to tie up when it comes to contracts.

Several players are set to become free agents at the end of the season, with Daichi Kamada, Nathaniel Clyne and Jefferson Lerma the most prominent players currently departing as things stand – besides loanees Evann Guessand and Christantus Uche.

Cadena SER in Spain now state that Lerma has been offered a new deal by Crystal Palace – although the Colombia international has decided to reject it.

Jefferson Lerma turns down new Crystal Palace contract

The Spanish news outlet claim Sevilla and Valencia are on red alert after hearing that the South American had turned down a new deal at Selhurst Park.

Lerma is said to be targeting a move outside of England after eight seasons in the Premier League with Bournemouth and Crystal Palace, as clubs in Italy, Turkey, Greece and the United States begin to show interest in the 31-year-old.

Cadena SER say the Colombian is looking for a three-year contract and to join a club playing in Europe at the ‘highest’ level, suggesting he has a desire to play in the UEFA Champions League.

Lerma currently earns £70,000-a-week at Crystal Palace according to Capology, a significant salary which the Eagles can put towards a replacement.

The BBC say Crystal Palace have held talks to sign Joao Gomes from Wolves after the Old Gold were relegated.

The Daily Mail believe Crystal Palace want to sign Kodai Sano this summer, having already seen a bid for the Japan international turned down by NEC Nijmegen in the winter transfer window.

Elsewhere, the Telegraph say Crystal Palace want to sign Hayden Hackney from Middlesbrough and are planning to bid £12m – so it certainly seems like the Eagles are already preparing to lose an option in the central midfield department like Lerma.

Should Kamada also opt to snub a new deal and leave south London this summer, then Matt Hobbs may need to bring several new midfielders to SE25.
