Crystal Palace have recently signed a number of players who actually contributed to goals against the Eagles.
Brennan Johnson has previously registered three assists in six games against us, while Jorgen Strand Larsen netted against Crystal Palace for Wolves in a 2-2 draw at Molineux last season, and again in our 4-2 win over the Old Gold at Selhurst Park after winning the FA Cup.
Now – according to South American news outlet Apito Final – Crystal Palace are preparing to bid for another player who scored in that aforementioned draw at Molineux in Joao Gomes.
Crystal Palace expected to bid for Joao Gomes
Our pursuit of the Brazil international appears to be warming up.
The BBC claimed on Tuesday that Crystal Palace have held talks over a deal for Gomes after Wolves were relegated, having only recently partaken in successful negotiations with those at Molineux when signing Strand Larsen for £48m in February.
Apito Final add further information, claiming that the Eagles are preparing a bid for the 25-year-old as he aims to stay in the Premier League.
The deal could cost as much as £40m – although investment in the midfield department is needed ahead of an uncertain summer.

Adam Wharton may depart amid interest from Manchester United and Liverpool, while Jefferson Lerma and Daichi Kamada both become free agents when the season ends, as things stand.
Gomes is also contracted to Wolves until July 2030, so the Old Gold are in a strong negotiating position and can justify the £40m demand – especially as he boasts ten caps for Brazil and has many years remaining at the top level at the age of just 25.
Atletico Madrid and Napoli are also said to be keen on the Brazilian, which is a potential reason behind Crystal Palace’s desire to get this deal wrapped up quickly.
