Crystal Palace boast a rich history of producing top talent.
The Eagles have previously moulded the likes of Nathaniel Clyne, Wilfried Zaha, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Tyrick Mitchell into consistently effective Premier League players, with the likes of Victor Moses also going on to win the Premier League and Africa Cup of Nations after coming through the youth ranks at Selhurst Park.
Now, there is another talent making a name for himself at Crystal Palace…
Zach Marsh shines in 3-1 EFL Trophy win over Gillingham
The Crystal Palace U21 side recorded a 3-1 win over Gillingham in the EFL Trophy, thanks to goals from Jemiah Umolu, Franco Umeh and Hindolo Mustapha, a game in which Jonny Williams also made a start for The Gills.
However, there was another forward who did not get on the scoresheet – Zach Marsh – who blew Dan O’Hagan away.
The 46-year-old, who has previously covered the UEFA Champions League for TNT Sports, wrote on X (previously known as Twitter): “Really enjoyed watching CPFC U21s tonight. Some genuinely frightening potential out there. If I were a Championship, high-pressing coach looking for a nimble forward to lead the press I’d be making a move for a January loan for Zach Marsh.”
The 18-year-old is certainly on the right path.
Marsh – who has been named as one of the top 50 talents in London right now by the Evening Standard – impressively scored 16 goals in just 12 appearances in the U18 Premier League last season.
Remarkably, those 12 games involved four hat-tricks from the teenager, who also provided four assists.
Oliver Glasner needs to test 18-year-old out at Crystal Palace
If Crystal Palace are given a favourable opponent in the Carabao Cup draw tonight, we would like to see Marsh handed a senior debut, either from the bench or as a starter in the Fourth Round.
Four hat-tricks in just 12 games last season was incredible, and there is not much more the striker can do to catch the eye of Oliver Glasner.

The Austrian should also be paying close attention to Jesse Derry – son of Shaun Derry – who is flying in the youth ranks right now, as is Asher Agbinone.
As things stand, the future looks very bright at Selhurst Park, to say the least.
