Oliver Glasner has already made plenty of history at Crystal Palace.
The Austrian won a first major trophy for the Eagles with the FA Cup last season, also winning 53 points – the most Crystal Palace have ever accumulated in a Premier League campaign.
It is not as significant a record as these two, but Glasner could guide Crystal Palace to three consecutive London derby away wins in the Premier League for the first time ever should we overcome Brentford on Sunday.
Who should we be looking to keep around? 📝
Crystal Palace can achieve a club-record in the Premier League at Brentford
Never before have Crystal Palace – who want Andoni Iraola – won three London derbies away from Selhurst Park in a row in a single Premier League season, but that could change with victory over Brentford.
Our last two London derbies in the Premier League saw Glasner oversee a 2-1 win at Fulham and a 3-1 victory over Tottenham.
Brentford have also won just five of their last 30 London derbies in the Premier League too, which bodes well for Crystal Palace.
Should we manage to defeat the Bees, it would also signal a league double over Brentford for the first time since the 1957/58 campaign – and a first in the Premier League era.
The last two campaigns have seen Brentford lose their last game at home as well, another positive omen for the Eagles.
It would be wise for Glasner to give Jean-Philippe Mateta a start over Jorgen Strand Larsen. Only Wilfried Zaha has netted more Premier League goals in London derbies for Crystal Palace (15) than the Frenchman’s total of 11.
Who deserves to start up top in the UEFA Conference League final? 🤔
Glasner seems to trust Mateta more at the moment… 👀
Of course, every Crystal Palace fan only has eyes for the UEFA Conference League final at this point, but after five Premier League games without a win, it is important to rediscover some form to take into the clash against Rayo Vallecano in Leipzig.
