Crystal Palace fans are backing Marc Guehi for success ahead of his contract expiry next summer.

Marc Guehi is set to leave Crystal Palace as a free agent next summer, and it looks like the England centre-back will have his pick of the top clubs in Europe.

Liverpool wanted to sign Guehi on deadline day last month. But the 25-year-old Guehi also has links to the likes of Bayern Munich, Real Madrid and Barcelona too.

Oliver Glasner confirms Marc Guehi exit

Speaking to NewsHopper ahead of the weekend, Palace manager Oliver Glasner confirmed that Guehi has informed the club he won’t be signing a new deal at Selhurst Park ahead of next summer.

Glasner said: “Marc Guehi already told us that he won’t sign a new contract, so he will leave next year. Not just me, but the club wanted Marc to sign a new deal and offered him one, but he wants something different.”

Despite the bad news, Crystal Palace fans have reacted overwhelmingly in favour of Guehi, wishing him well for his next move and hoping that he eventually goes on to have a successful career.

Posting online, Palace fans were obviously upset about the news. But they hold no ill-feelings towards Guehi over his decision.

One fan wrote: “Fair enough, we say thanks, go for the Conference League and smash it out the park to find a suitable replacement.”

Another Crystal Palace supporter added: “You’ll struggle to find a Palace fan that would begrudge him that.”

Meanwhile, others weighed in, adding: “Damn that’s really disappointing,” and also: “Deserves it. Go win it all king.”

“Fairs still love him,” said another supporter, as this fan weighed in with: “He’ll have a great career, thanks for everything Marc.”
