Alan Pardew has weighed in on the Marc Guehi saga, with the defender looking nailed on to leave Crystal Palace in 2026.
Marc Guehi is out of contract at Selhurst Park in the summer of 2026, and the Crystal Palace favourite isn’t short of options ahead of next year with a move in January or the summer set to materialise.
Recent reports have revealed how Bayern Munich are particularly interested in signing Guehi next year. Liverpool meanwhile have long been linked with the England man, who also counts Real Madrid and Barcelona among his suitors.
Guehi has insisted that he’s happy to remain in South London for the time being. But Oliver Glasner surely knows that Guehi is on his way out of the club at some point in the next 12 months or so.

Alan Pardew says Bayern Munich in the ‘box seat’ to sign Marc Guehi
Speaking on Sky Sports, former Crystal Palace player and manager Alan Pardew was talking about the Guehi situation, and Bayern’s latest round of links to the 25-year-old. And Pardew thinks that the German giants are now in the ‘box seat’ to sign Guehi, ahead of the likes of Liverpool.
Pardew cites the fact that Bayern, and indeed Real Madrid and Barcelona and any other foreign club can sign a pre-contract agreement with Guehi during the January transfer window.
He says: “My guess is that internationally will be an option because of that January clause where a club can sign him, and I think Munich are in the box seat. And I think that’s similar to Real Madrid. They have a similar model. They’re looking for some kind of influence and change and value to their signings.
“So he’ll play for any of them teams and I think it’ll be brilliant for England in the World Cup. Marc has ended up, in my view, in a better position actually than he is if he’d have moved to Liverpool.”
Oliver Glasner twist could see Crystal Palace exodus to Bayern Munich
Bayern Munich signed Michael Olise from Crystal Palace in 2024, and he’s gone on to become one of the best attackers in world football right now, so Bayern have every reason to raid Selhurst Park once more.
Guehi seems like someone who they’re particularly interested in signing but there’s now Glasner who might be an option for Bayern one day down the line.
Glasner’s dream job is Bayern Munich if he were to leave Crystal Palace. Right now though, Vincent Kompany is performing well in charge of Bayern, though there’s the expectation that he one day returns to Man City to replace Pep Guardiola.
It could be that Glasner, and Guehi and Olise all end up playing for Bayern one day. But right now, Glasner and Guehi both seem content at Crystal Palace where an exciting season lies ahead.
