How Bayern Munich could raid Crystal Palace again after Michael Olise capture amid potential double exit

Crystal Palace’s Marc Guehi is out of contract at the end of this season, and look nailed on to leave the club and seal a move to one of Europe’s biggest.

Marc Guehi is at the centre of a lot of talk among Crystal Palace fans right now. The defender almost joined Liverpool on deadline day but Oliver Glasner vetoed the move, and Guehi remains at Selhurst Park.

So far this season, the England centre-back has featured seven times in the Premier League for Palace with one goal and an assist to his name too.

But Glasner’s side saw their unbeaten run come to an end last time out. Crystal Palace were beaten 2-1 away at Everton but remain in 6th place of the Premier League table going into this month’s international break.

Marc Guehi in no rush over Crystal Palace future

Out of contract next summer and unlikely to sign a renewal, Crystal Palace might yet be keen to offload Guehi in January and claim any sort of transfer fee they can for the 25-year-old. But Guehi himself is in no rush to leave the club.

Speaking to We Are Palace, chief transfer correspondent Graeme Bailey has revealed how Guehi is ‘not in a rush’ to finalise his next move and how he’s more likely to wait until next summer to leave the club, instead of this coming winter transfer window.

Bailey explained the latest amid Bayern Munich’s latest round of links to the player, with Bayern having already signed Michael Olise from the Eagles back in 2024: “Marc Guehi has interest from all of Europe’s top clubs. It is not new that Bayern Munich like him, they have been tracking him since last year, as have Real Madrid, Barcelona as well as all of his English suitors.

“All the clubs keen on him are in regular contact, the principle suitors are making sure that Guehi is aware of what might be on offer.

“Guehi is not in a rush, he will be leaving Palace and likely end of the season rather than January but it is unlikely he signs a pre-contract early in the New Year. He doesn’t need to make a quick decision.”

Meanwhile, Glasner’s Crystal Palace future is in doubt, too. He’s recently been linked with Man United but fresh reports have revealed that Glasner’s dream job would be at Bayern Munich, and so there’s now every chance Glasner takes Guehi with him to Palace at some point down the line.

Right now though, Vincent Kompany is performing well at Bayern. The Belgian currently has his side four points clear at the top of the Bundesliga table and so Glasner may have to wait a while yet for his dream job.

Marc Guehi has already spoken out on his Crystal Palace future

Last week, Crystal Palace beat Dynamo Kyiv 2-0 in the Conference League, kicking off their European campaign with a comfortable win away in Poland.

And speaking before that game, Guehi responded to the ongoing noise around his future at the club, insisting that he’s solely focused on the season ahead with Crystal Palace.

He said on the transfer rumours: “I don’t have much to say, to be honest. I’m focused on playing football and playing for this club. But to the fans; thank you very much for your support. I definitely feel it.”

Inevitably, there will no doubt be rumours and noise in January. But Guehi is content with staying at Crystal Palace until the end of the season, where he’ll no doubt seal a move away from the club, and likely to one of Europe’s big-hitters too.
