Some Crystal Palace fans have reacted badly after hearing an update on Jesurun Rak-Sakyi.

It was Edmund Brack of the South London Press who shared the news.

So, what have some Crystal Palace fans been saying about Jesurun Rak-Sakyi? Let’s take a look…

Crystal Palace fans complain as Rak-Sakyi deal blocked

Well – according to Brack – Blackburn Rovers actually asked if the England U20 international could be included on loan as part of the deal which saw Adam Wharton move to Selhurst Park on transfer deadline day.

However, Crystal Palace rejected the enquiry, as Rak-Sakyi is believed to be firmly in Roy Hodgson’s plans for the second half of the season.

Understandably, some fans are pessimistic about that actually being the case.

Hodgson handed Rak-Sakyi just 130 minutes of Premier League football across six outings in the first half of the campaign, with all of those appearances coming as a substitute.

That was despite the fact Michael Olise found himself sidelined, so it feels as if the Crystal Palace No.49 has an even slimmer chance of regular playing time now the France U21 international is back.

You can see what the Crystal Palace fans on X (previously known as Twitter) have been saying about the club’s decision to block Rak-Sakyi’s loan below…

Crystal Palace should have loaned Rak-Sakyi out

In our view, it was a poor decision to keep Rak-Sakyi at Selhurst Park.

The 21-year-old desperately needs to kick on after a stunning 2022/23 campaign on loan at Charlton, where he scored 15 goals and provided ten assists in 50 appearances across all competitions.

Hodgson is not even playing the £26m Matheus Franca as things stand, so Rak-Sakyi would presumably not be next in line for some minutes if a forward were to pick up a serious injury anyway.

Therefore, a loan to Ewood Park would have been a sensible move.

Nevertheless, the transfer window is now closed, and hopefully, Hodgson does actually give Rak-Sakyi a chance to express himself in south London before the 2023/24 campaign is over.
