Crystal Palace are apparently trying to sign some future talent and this has led them to have a big interest in Mason Melia.

That is according to journalist Edmund Brack.

So, what’s the latest Crystal Palace transfer news? Let’s take a look…

What’s the story?

Crystal Palace have some fantastic players in their academy and it looks like they want to make sure they have a strong set of players with top potential.

According to journalist Edmund Brack and his latest report for London News Online, the Eagles are ‘keeping tabs’ on Mason Melia.

Apparently the young forward recently signed a professional deal with St. Patrick’s Athletic. He also earned a call-up to the Ireland U19 squad for the first time.

Multiple clubs are tracking the player, who has already had a trial at Premier League giants Manchester City.

Crystal Palace interested in Mason Melia

Crystal Palace are big fans of scouting talent in Ireland. They have already signed Killian Phillips from the Irish League and reports earlier in the week suggested that they are scouting another Irish prospect in Adam Murphy.

It is clearly a division in which they think they can unearth a few future stars and it is great to see the club planning for the future.

Melia is only 16 years-old but the fact that he has already signed a professional contract suggests that he definitely has some potential.

With the forward also having a trial at Manchester City, it is definitely worth scouting the player and monitoring his progress for the time being.

The club need to make sure they also build on their current squad as well as plan for the future. We have some top talents but are lacking the squad depth needed to push for a top half finish.

The January transfer window is rapidly approaching and fans of the Eagles will be hoping that youth and players ready for the Premier League are signed.
