Crystal Palace now want £4m player as Tottenham target key man

Crystal Palace could either be in the UEFA Europa League next season, or have no European football whatsoever.

Despite this, Steve Parish and Matt Hobbs are still lining up some early deals, with talks already taking place for Joao Gomes at Wolves – while RMC Sport claim a bid has been made for Moustapha Mbow.

Now, Croatian news outlet Germanijak are linking Crystal Palace to a move for Dominik Livakovic – which casts doubt over the future of Walter Benitez.

Germanijak state that the Eagles are admirers of the Croatia international, and have ‘entered the story’ when it comes to his future.

The report states that negotiations are not yet at a ‘serious’ stage – but if talks were to progress, a deal should be struck quite easily with Fenerbahce demanding just €5m (£4m) for the goalkeeper.

Livakovic is said to want a move to London as well, so an agreement looks likely if Crystal Palace step up talks.

Strangely, Germanijak say Crystal Palace are looking at the 31-year-old due to the fact Tottenham want to sign Dean Henderson. Spurs are said to be targeting a major rebuild should the north Londoners manage to stay in the Premier League.

However, we highly doubt the England international is at risk of leaving.

Henderson is currently in talks over a new contract, and recently became captain at Selhurst Park after Marc Guehi left for Manchester City.

Having said that, the interest in Livakovic does raise doubts over the future of Walter Benitez. The Argentina international has made just eight appearances this season as he plays second fiddle to Henderson.

The South American was previously a regular for PSV Eindhoven, recording 46 appearances last term as the Dutch side won the Eredivisie, so he might be keen to play consistently again elsewhere.
