Crystal Palace now want Michael Carrick to replace Roy Hodgson after his impressive work at Middlesbrough.
That is according to Football Transfers.
So, what is the situation involving Crystal Palace and Michael Carrick? Let’s take a look…
Crystal Palace want Michael Carrick
Well – according to Football Transfers – Steve Parish actually made an approach for the Englishman after sacking Patrick Vieira in March 2023.
Middlesbrough denied Crystal Palace the chance to speak with Carrick at that stage.
Now – however – it is said that the man with 38 career wins in management would jump at the chance to work in the Premier League if Boro fail to achieve promotion this season.
Middlesbrough currently sit tenth in the Championship – but are just a point away from the Play Off positions.
Football Transfers add that Hodgson is actually working alongside Parish to find his replacement, with the 76-year-old set to leave when his contract expires this summer.

Carrick is said to have impressed those in the boardroom at Selhurst Park with his intelligence, calm temperament and meticulousness.
The 42-year-old guided Middlesbrough to the Play Off semi-final last season, and will have Boro in the Carabao Cup final if they avoid defeat to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge next Tuesday.
Steve Parish has Michael Carrick alternative
Carrick is not the only Premier League legend on Parish’s managerial shortlist.
Football Transfers also claim that Vincent Kompany is a target for Crystal Palace, after guiding Burnley back into the Premier League last season.

The Belgian has struggled in England’s top-flight this term as his side currently sit 19th with 12 points from 21 games so far.
However, Kompany – aged 37 – remains a bright managerial prospect with an exciting future in the dugout, which Parish has made note of.
Steve Cooper is another potential appointment for the Eagles after receiving his P45 at Nottingham Forest.
Be sure to keep an eye on this situation, as Crystal Palace continue to prepare for life after Hodgson in SE25.
