Crystal Palace have now announced a list of those who have been retained and released ahead of the 2026/27 campaign.
The Eagles have confirmed that Daichi Kamada has been offered a new contract, and have also announced that talks are ongoing with Nathaniel Clyne over a fresh deal.
However, a surprise name was on the list of those who have been released as Crystal Palace confirm Asher Agbinone has left Selhurst Park.
Initial thoughts on Pierre Sage? 🤔
He can boast a 67.5% win ratio from 40 games at RC Lens 😍
Crystal Palace release Asher Agbinone
Agbinone looked set for a breakthrough early on in the 2024/25 campaign.
Oliver Glasner handed the 20-year-old his Premier League debut in a 1-0 loss at Nottingham Forest in October 2024, with the tricky winger impressing in what was otherwise a bleak evening for the Eagles.
It came after Agbinone travelled to the United States with the senior side for pre-season in the summer of 2024, scoring a fantastic goal in a 3-1 win over Wolves.
Glasner was impressed, saying after the friendly: “I really enjoyed Asher, 18 years (old) – he’s been with us for three days. He did a great finish, so it was a very nice goal. They’re all good guys, good talents, otherwise they wouldn’t be here with us.”

Unfortunately, Agbinone only managed to make one more appearance in the Premier League after his debut at Nottingham Forest, receiving two minutes of action in a 2-0 defeat against Fulham in November 2024.
The forward who joined Crystal Palace at the age of nine then went on loan to Gillingham in January 2025 – but made just six appearances in what was a quiet stint.
Where do you think we can finish in the UEFA Europa League next season after victory in Leipzig? 🤔
If Nottingham Forest can reach the last four while in a relegation battle, surely we can at least make the final? 👀
Agbinone has since failed to kick on, now leading to his release from Crystal Palace.
At the age of just 20 – however – the talented forward has plenty of time on his side to find a new club and fulfil his immense potential.
