Chris Richards and Daniel Munoz have now been in touch with Crystal Palace teammate Joachim Andersen after Denmark were knocked out of UEFA Euro 2024.
The Crystal Palace No.16 thought he had put Denmark 1-0 up in Sunday’s Round of 16 clash against Germany, only for the closest of offside calls to rule it out after VAR intervened.
Then, the £17m Crystal Palace man was involved at the other end almost immediately after his strike was disallowed, as Michael Oliver awarded Germany a penalty when the ball brushed the Dane’s hand inside the box.
Kai Havertz dispatched the spot kick before Jamal Musiala secured a 2-0 win, and Chris Richards, as well as Daniel Munoz, have now reached out to console Joachim Andersen…
What Chris Richards and Daniel Munoz sent to Joachim Andersen
The United States international and the Colombia international – who are both currently away at the Copa America – reached out to Andersen on Instagram.
Richards wrote “var is garbage … helluva tourney bro” to show his disapproval of how technology spoiled Denmark’s chances of beating Germany.
The Crystal Palace No.26 even ended up arguing with an Instagram user about VAR, writing “u didn’t watch the game did u” and “var wasn’t meant for either of those calls, if that’s the case what’s the point of having referees anymore if computers make all of the game changing decisions” when defending Andersen.
In regards to Munoz, the South American wrote “Vamos papi 🔥🦾⚔️🛡️” – which strangely translates to “come on daddy” – after the 28-year-old was knocked out of Euro 2024.
David Ozoh – who Luton want to sign permanently – also messaged Andersen, writing “Head up champ” to his Crystal Palace teammate.
Crystal Palace No.16 can hold his head high
Denmark performed very well at Euro 2024, holding England to a 1-1 draw in a game they also could have snatched victory, while also running the favourites Germany very close.

Andersen played every second of action for Denmark across their four games, and were it not for a matter of centimetres, he could have been the man to send his country into the Euro 2024 quarter-final with a historic win over Germany.
Hopefully, the man from Solrød Strand is not too upset about being knocked out, and is ready to have a special 2024/25 campaign back at Crystal Palace.
