Daichi Kamada on what Oliver Glasner told him
Having been officially announced last week, finally Kamada has given his first interview at the club. Speaking to club media, he said a lot of things which could make fans excited.
Kamada revealed what was exciting to him about the prospect of playing for Crystal Palace, and admitted what Glasner has told him about the ambitions for the next season.
“Crystal Palace have a lot of talented players and since Glasner took over last season, the team has achieved good results. So the manager told me he wanted to make a new history with the team.
“I thought the project is a great fit for me too and it would be fantastic to make a new history for Crystal Palace. Which I think is the main reason for me to come here.”
This is incredibly exciting and says plenty about the impact Glasner has had on the club. Wanting to make history is something which would’ve been unheard of this time last year. It also shows that with Glasner, Palace can attract a higher quality of player than with Roy Hodgson in charge.

Kamada has lofty ambitions at Crystal Palace
Continuing his interview, Kamada also referenced what he is aiming for this coming season, echoing Joachim Andersen in admitting European football is the target.
“One of the main ambitions is to qualify for next season’s Europe competitions – I hope I can contribute to that.
“At Frankfurt, we did well in the cup competitions, hopefully, that will also be a good chance for Palace to win a trophy too”
The fact he’s only just joined and is targeting silverware showcases how ambitious Glasner is and what he must be telling the new recruits at Selhurst Park.
