Damien Delaney has now commented on Roy Hodgson as Crystal Palace prepare to make a change in the dugout.
The 42-year-old made the comments when speaking on Virgin Media Sport.

Well, the Irishman only made four appearances under the 76-year-old before leaving Selhurst Park in 2018.
However – despite only briefly working together – Delaney has the upmost respect for Hodgson.
The man from Cork said: “I only caught him at the tail end of my career, a year to work with him. I found him absolutely superb.
“I would safely say he’s one of the best, if not the best, that I’ve worked with. I wish I was younger when I came across him. A superb manager, a superb person, the way he deals with you.
“Honestly, truly, one of the nicest, kindest men you’re likely to meet. I hope he recovers well. He’s served Crystal Palace well in times of need and now it’s up to someone else to take it forward.”
How Damien Delaney fared after leaving Crystal Palace
Delaney is something of a cult hero at Selhurst Park – and Crystal Palace would surely not be in the current predicament with the likes of him and Mile Jedinak around.
After leaving SE25 in 2018, Delaney returned to Cork City, making ten appearances before moving to Waterford in 2019, where he made 21 appearances and eventually hung up his boots that same year.
The Virgin Media Sports pundit played for Crystal Palace more than any other side throughout his career, racking up 193 appearances in total after Dougie Freedman signed him on a free transfer in August 2012.
Delaney played a huge role in getting us to the Premier League – and also keeping us in it – and he will always be welcomed back with open arms at Selhurst Park, as will Hodgson, who is close to being replaced by Oliver Glasner.
